What Your Agent Can Do In The Editor

Overview

When your agent is connected to the editor, it can do anything you can do by hand in the editor, and nothing more. Your plan’s limits apply, and each edit lands in the tab as if you’d clicked it. Your agent only sees the actions that fit the open clip. For example, caption actions appear only when the clip has captions, and the audiogram switch appears only in audio projects.

Trim And Arrange The Timeline

You can ask to	Try
Delete, duplicate, or split an item	”Split the b-roll at 12 seconds and delete the second half.”
Move an item to a new time or row	”Move the logo to row 3 and start it at 5 seconds.”
Trim an item’s start or end	”Trim the music so it ends with the video.”
Close the gap before an item	”Remove the empty space before the outro.”
Add, remove, delete, or swap rows (up to 8)	“Swap rows 2 and 3.”

Edit By Transcript

You can ask to	Try
Cut the video under words	”Cut out ‘um, so basically’ at the start.”
Remove silent gaps, one or all	”Remove all the silent gaps.”
Start or end the clip at a word (AI-generated clips)	“Start the clip at ‘Here’s the thing’ and end it after ‘subscribe’.”
Split the clip after a word	”Cut the clip after the first sentence.”
Add more of the source video	”Add the next 10 seconds of the original video at the end.”

Added segments may not be auto-reframed yet. If so, your agent tells you.

Fix And Decorate Captions

You can ask to	Try
Correct a word, or every match	”Change ‘reaper’ to ‘Reap’ everywhere.”
Hide words from the captions (video stays)	“Hide the word ‘like’ from the captions.”
Add an emoji to a word, or after every match	”Add 🔥 after every ‘fire’.”
Highlight a word, or every match	”Highlight ‘free’ in yellow wherever it appears.”
Change when a word appears or disappears	”Make ‘now’ stay on screen a little longer.”

Style Captions

You can ask to	Try
Change font, size, colours, highlight, box, background, stroke, shadow, and animations	”Make the captions bigger, white with a black stroke, and a pop animation.”
Set the most words shown at once (1–20)	“Show at most 3 words at a time.”
Turn captions on or off (turning them off needs a paid plan)	“Turn captions off for this clip.”
Apply a caption preset or one of your brand templates	”Apply my ‘Podcast’ brand template.”

Applying a brand template replaces b-roll and assets added earlier, so your agent asks first when that would remove anything.

Add Media And Text

You can ask to	Try
Find and add stock video or images, music, sound effects, stickers, or your own uploads	”Add a stock clip of a city at night as b-roll from 4 to 8 seconds.”
Add text in a Text panel preset	”Add a title that says ‘Episode 12’ at the top.”
Set or remove the background image	”Use a dark gradient background.”
Set or remove the thumbnail	”Set a thumbnail from the gallery that fits a tech video.”
Turn the audiogram on or off (audio projects)	“Turn on the audiogram.”

On the Free plan, stock video and images, music, sound effects, stickers, and your own uploads need a paid plan.

Adjust Items On The Canvas

You can ask to	Try
Move, resize, rotate, or crop an item	”Make the logo smaller and put it in the top-right corner.”
Change an item’s style: volume, filter, brightness, rounded corners, padding, animation, fades	”Fade the music in and out and lower it to 20%.”
Replace a text item’s words	”Change the title to ‘Part 2’.”
Change the layout: Fit, Fill, Split, or Streaming	”Switch to the split layout and swap the top and bottom.”
Change a video’s speed	”Speed up the intro to 1.5x.”
Turn face tracking on or off for a segment	”Turn off face tracking for the second segment.”
Add a transition: fade, slide, wipe, iris, clock wipe, zoom, or blur	”Add a 0.5 second fade between the clips.”
Remove a green screen colour	”Remove the green background from the overlay video.”
Set a sticker’s looping and speed, or change the audiogram visualiser	”Make the sticker loop at half speed.”

Use AI Tools

You can ask to	Try
Turn on AI Emoji or AI Highlight Words	”Run AI Highlight Words on the captions.”
Turn face tracking on or off for the whole clip	”Turn on face tracking everywhere.”

AI Emoji and AI Highlight Words save the clip first, then regenerate the captions on Reap’s servers. Your agent waits until they finish.

Project Settings, Saving, And Export

You can ask to	Try
Change the aspect ratio	”Make this square.”
Set the export resolution: 720p, 1080p, 2K, or 4K	”Export in 1080p.”
Undo or redo	”Undo that last change.”
Save	”Save the clip.”
Reset to the last save	”Throw away my changes since the last save.”
Export and get the download link	”Export the clip and give me the download link.”
Play, pause, jump to a time, or select an item	”Play from 30 seconds.”

Your plan sets some limits: the Free plan exports at 720p only and can’t change the aspect ratio, and 2K and 4K need a Studio plan. Each export uses 1 export credit, and a clip can be exported up to 5 times. Your agent asks before exporting or resetting.
