Overview

The panel on the left of the editor has two views. Switch between them with the Transcript and Subtitles tabs at the top.

Transcript View

The transcript shows everything said in the clip as running text.

Subtitles View

The Subtitles view lists each caption line on its own with its timing in seconds, for example 0.059 - 2.563. Use it to:
  • check how your captions are split into lines,
  • spot lines that are too long or too short, and
  • find a specific moment quickly.
To change exactly when a caption appears or disappears, use the timing sidebar. See How to set caption timing with the timing sidebar.
To control how many words show on screen at once, change Max words in the caption style editor. See Advanced Caption Styling.
