Overview
The Voiceover panel in the editor gives you two ways to add narration to a clip:- Record: record your own voice with your microphone while the clip plays.
- AI voice: type what you want said and Reap generates the speech.
Record Your Own Voiceover
1
Open the Voiceover panel
In the editor, click Voiceover in the right sidebar and stay on the Record tab.
2
Choose your microphone
Pick the microphone to use. Default microphone uses your computer’s default input. If your browser asks for microphone access, allow it.
3
Move the playhead
Move the playhead to where the voiceover should start. The panel shows where recording will begin, for example Record from 00:00.00.
4
Start recording
Click Record. After a short Get ready countdown, speak. The preview plays muted while you speak so it doesn’t echo into your recording.
5
Stop or discard
Press Space to stop recording, or Esc to discard the take. Use Retake to record it again.
Generate An AI Voiceover
1
Open the AI voice tab
In the Voiceover panel, click AI voice. The first time, you may briefly see Loading the speech model.
2
Write the script
Type what the voice should say in Text. You can enter up to 1,000 characters, which is about a minute of speech.
3
Pick a voice
Choose a voice from the Voice menu.
4
Generate
Click Generate voice. The generated audio is added to your clip.
AI voice is part of the paid plans and works on desktop only. Each generation uses AI credits. See the Reap Credit System.
