Overview

Face tracking keeps the speaker centered as they move. See Face Tracking for how to turn it on. If the camera feels too jumpy or too slow to follow, you can fine-tune how it tracks.

Step-By-Step Workflow

1

Open your clip in the editor

Click Edit under the clip.
2

Make sure face tracking is on

Click AI Tools in the right sidebar and check that Face tracking is switched on.
3

Open Fine-tune tracking

Under Face tracking, open Fine-tune tracking.
4

Adjust the settings

Change Follow speed and Dead zone (explained below), then play the clip to check the result.
5

Reset if needed

Click Reset to go back to the default tracking settings.

Messages You Might See

  • Face tracking is not available for this video. Reap couldn’t detect a face it can track. Use a clip layout or adjust the framing manually instead.
  • We couldn’t find a face in most of this segment, so face tracking isn’t available here. Tracking works per segment. Other segments may still track.
  • Move this clip and turn off face tracking? Moving or resizing the video on the canvas turns face tracking off for that segment. Choose Keep face tracking to cancel, or Move it to position it yourself.
  • Turning this on puts the clip back to its original size and position. Switching face tracking back on undoes manual moves and resizes.
