Overview

Your AI agent can edit a clip directly in the Reap editor. You ask in plain language, and the agent makes the same edits you would make by hand: cutting words, fixing captions, changing the caption style, adding b-roll or music, switching the layout, and exporting. Every edit happens in an editor tab you can see, so you watch each change land. Nothing is saved until you or your agent saves, and every edit can be undone with the editor’s Undo button.
Editing in the editor is different from the rest of Reap MCP. Reap MCP creates projects, clips, captions, and dubs on Reap’s servers. Editing works inside an open editor tab, so your agent needs a browser with the clip open.

How It Works

1

The clip opens in the editor

Your agent opens the clip in a tab in its own browser.
2

Your agent reads the clip

The editor tells your agent what is on the timeline: every caption word, overlay, row, and the current style.
3

It edits one step at a time

Each edit lands in the editor straight away, exactly as if you had clicked it. Each one is a single undo step.
4

You decide when to save

Ask your agent to save, or click Save yourself. Until then, the edits stay in the tab and you can still undo or reset them.

Choose How To Connect

How your agent reaches the editor depends on whether it has its own browser.

What Your Agent Asks You First

Some edits cost credits or can’t be undone. For these, your agent stops and asks before going ahead:
  • Exporting a clip. Each export uses 1 export credit, and a clip can be exported up to 5 times.
  • Resetting the timeline. This throws away every unsaved edit and clears the undo history.
  • Applying a brand template that would remove overlays. A template’s caption style, intro, outro, logo, and background replace any b-roll and assets added before, so your agent names what would be removed and asks first.

Good To Know

  • Your plan applies. Your agent can only do what your plan allows. If an edit needs a higher plan, your agent tells you.
  • One tab per clip. If the same clip is open in two tabs, your agent may edit the wrong one. Close extra tabs before you start.
  • Some work takes a moment. AI Emoji, AI Highlight Words, and exports run on Reap’s servers. Your agent waits for them to finish before its next edit.
  • AI Emoji and AI Highlight Words save first. They work from the saved clip, so turning one on saves the clip, including any unsaved edits.
  • The tab stays on the clip. In a tab your agent is driving, links that would leave the clip are switched off, so the agent doesn’t lose its place.
