Overview

If a name, brand, or term is transcribed wrong throughout your clip, you don’t have to fix it word by word. Find in the transcript panel can correct, highlight, or add an emoji to every match at once. To fix a single word, see How to find and correct the words in captions.

Open Find

1

Open your clip in the editor

Click Edit under the clip. The transcript is on the left.
2

Open Find options

Click the options button next to Find at the top of the transcript. The Find and… menu opens.
3

Choose what to do

Pick Correct, Highlight, Add emoji, or Remove all gaps.

Remove All Gaps

Choose Remove all gaps to cut the pauses between words across the whole clip in one step. To remove silences more selectively, see Can I remove the silences in the clip?

Tips

  • Search for the shortest unique part of a word to catch every variation.
  • Play the clip after Remove all gaps to make sure the pacing still feels natural. Use Undo (⌘Z or Ctrl+Z) if it’s too tight.
