Overview

The Effects panel in the editor has a library of short sound effects you can drop onto your clip: transitions like Whoosh and Whip, UI sounds like Mouse Click and Notification, and reaction sounds like Vine Boom, Bruh, and Record Scratch. Each effect shows its length, so you know how much of the timeline it will take.

Step-By-Step Workflow

1

Open your clip in the editor

Click Edit under the clip you want to work on.
2

Open the Effects panel

Click Effects in the right sidebar.
3

Preview a sound

Click the play button next to an effect to hear it before adding it.
4

Add it to the timeline

Click the effect’s name to add it to your timeline.
5

Place it at the right moment

Drag the sound on the timeline so it lines up with the moment you want, for example a cut, a punchline, or a text pop-up.
6

Preview and export

Play the clip to check the timing, then click Export.

Tips

  • Short effects (under half a second) work best on cuts and text pop-ins.
  • Use sound effects sparingly. One or two well-timed sounds keep viewers watching better than constant effects.
  • To use your own sound, upload it in the Assets panel. See How to add assets.
  • If an effect drowns out speech, select it on the timeline and lower its volume. See How to Change Playback Speed and Volume.
