# Troubleshoot Editing With Your AI Agent

> Fix common problems when your AI agent edits clips in the Reap editor: the agent can't reach the editor, an edit is refused, or a save or export won't go through.

## Your Agent Can't Reach The Editor

**Using an agent with its own browser?** Ask it to open the clip again. The sign-in link it uses works once and expires after about 2 minutes, so your agent creates a new one each time it's needed.

**Using Claude.ai, ChatGPT, or another app without a browser?** These can't drive the editor. Your agent sends you the editor link, and you make the edits yourself.

## Your Agent Edited The Wrong Clip

If the same clip, or several clips, are open in more than one tab, your agent may pick the wrong tab. Close the tabs you aren't using and ask your agent to check which clip it's connected to.

## What Your Agent's Messages Mean

When the editor refuses an edit, your agent passes on the reason. These are the most common:

| Your agent says | What it means | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| The editor is still loading | The clip, player, caption style, or your plan hasn't finished loading | Wait a few seconds; your agent tries again |
| A job is still running | AI Emoji, AI Highlight Words, or an export is in progress | Wait for it to finish; your agent waits automatically |
| It needs your confirmation | The edit costs a credit or can't be undone: export, reset, or a brand template that removes overlays | Say yes or no |
| It needs a higher plan | For example: turning captions off, adding stock media, music, sound effects, stickers, or your uploads, changing the aspect ratio, or exporting at 2K or 4K | [Update your plan](https://docs.reap.video/help-center/update-subscription-plan.md) or ask for something else |
| The clip would be too long | The edit would take the clip past the project's maximum length | Trim something first |
| The project is locked | Demo projects and cancelled projects can't be saved or exported | Use a project of your own |
| The save was refused | Reap didn't accept the save; for example, the clip has already been exported 5 times | Read the reason your agent gives |
| It isn't available for this clip | The action doesn't apply here; for example, word edits need captions | Ask for a different edit |

## Your Changes Disappeared

Edits aren't saved until you or your agent saves. If you closed or reloaded the tab first, they're gone. Ask your agent to save when you're happy with the result, or click **Save** yourself.

If your agent reset the timeline, it asked you first. A reset can't be undone.
