# Open The Editor From Your AI Agent

> Ask your AI agent to open a Reap project or clip in the editor. Agents with their own browser sign in and start editing; others send you the link.

> **For AI agents:** a documentation index is at [/llms.txt](https://docs.reap.video/llms.txt). Every page is also available as markdown, just append `.md` to the URL.

## Overview

With [Reap MCP connected](https://docs.reap.video/help-center/connect-reap-mcp-server.md), your AI agent can open any project, or a single clip, in the Reap editor. What happens next depends on whether your agent has its own browser:

* **Agents with a browser** (Claude Code desktop app, Claude in Chrome, Codex desktop app, OpenClaw) open the editor there and can [edit the clip for you](https://docs.reap.video/help-center/edit-clips-with-your-ai-agent.md) while you watch.
* **Agents without one** (Claude.ai, ChatGPT, and other chat apps) send you the editor link, and you edit the clip yourself.

## Open A Clip

```text theme={"system"}
Open my latest project in the Reap editor.
```

```text theme={"system"}
Open the second clip from my podcast project in the editor.
```

Your agent finds the project, and the clip if you named one, then opens it.

## In An Agent's Own Browser

The browser built into an app like Claude Code is separate from yours, so it isn't signed in to Reap. Your agent signs it in for you:

**1. Your agent gets a one-time sign-in link**

Reap MCP creates a sign-in link for the workspace you connected. It works once and expires after about 2 minutes, and your agent never shows it in the chat.

**2. The editor opens, signed in**

Your agent opens the link in its browser and lands on the clip, already signed in to your Reap workspace.

**3. It stays signed in**

Later projects open in the same browser without signing in again.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Claude in Chrome works in your own Chrome, where you're already signed in to Reap, so it opens the regular editor link.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The browser your agent signs in stays tied to your Reap MCP connection and its workspace. If you [revoke the connection](https://docs.reap.video/help-center/manage-or-revoke-mcp-connections.md), that browser is signed out too.

## In Your Own Browser

If your agent can't open a browser, it replies with the editor link. Open it in a browser where you're signed in to Reap and edit as usual.
