## Overview

If you filmed in front of a green screen, or you have a green-screen asset, Reap can remove the green so whatever is behind it on the timeline shows through. Green Screen Removal works on video and image layers.

| - | - |
| **Red Threshold** | Controls how much red a pixel can have and still count as background. |
| **Green Minimum** | Sets how green a pixel must be before it's removed. |
| **Blue Threshold** | Controls how much blue a pixel can have and still count as background. |
| **Edge Smoothing** | Softens the cut-out edge so it blends naturally. |

## Tips For Clean Results

* Light the green screen evenly so it's one consistent shade.
* Keep the subject a little away from the screen to reduce green spill.
* Avoid green clothing or props, because they'll be removed too.
* Put a background image or video on a row below the keyed layer so something shows through. See [How to change timeline row positions in the editor](/help-center/how-to-change-timeline-row-positions-in-the-editor).
