# How to Record Video or Audio in the Editor

> Record a camera clip or a microphone track straight into your project from the Assets panel.

> **For AI agents:** a documentation index is at [/llms.txt](/llms.txt). Every page is also available as markdown, just append `.md` to the URL.

## Overview

You don't need a separate app to record a quick intro, reaction, or narration. The **Assets** panel in the editor can record from your camera or microphone and save the result with your uploads.

## Tips

* Record somewhere quiet with your face well lit.
* For narration over your clip, the **Voiceover** panel is quicker because it records in sync with playback. See [How to Add a Voiceover](/help-center/how-to-add-a-voiceover).
* Recordings stay in your uploads, so you can reuse them in other projects.

## Troubleshooting

* **Recording doesn't start.** Use a current version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge, and check the browser's camera and microphone permissions.
* **The wrong camera or microphone is used.** Change the default device in your browser or system settings, then try again.
